why join the Morgantown Figure Skating Club™?

The US Olympic and Paralympic Committee (USOPC) national governing body for figure skating in the United States is US Figure Skating® (USFS). The skating journey for skaters in the United States begins with Learn to Skate and then continues through joining a club, where skaters then have the right to test, compete, and participate in other skating opportunities.

In Morgantown, we offer the support structure for skaters to do do all of the above.

Membership with a skating club and the associated fees are never required to start skating or to take private lessons.

Membership levels

The Morgantown FSC offers two membership levels, both running yearly from July 1 to June 30.

1. Learn to Skate USA

Coverage under U.S. Figure Skating’s sports accident insurance policy
Access to Learn to Skate-exclusive practice time (2x weekly) at BOPARC Ice Arena
Opportunity to participate in Morgantown FSC’s annual Holiday Show, Spring Show, and other community events
Membership automatically included when signing up for Learn to Skate

2. US Figure Skating

Includes all benefits of Learn to Skate USA membership, AND
Access to private, club-exclusive figure skating time
Discounted rate for Learn to Skate
Membership in US Figure Skating, including the right to test, compete, and participate in other skating opportunities.
Coaching development opportunities for high school and collegiate athletes

Who is membership for?

Ages 3-11: Signing your children up for Learn to Skate classes ensures access to safe practice time, insurance coverage at club-run events (classes, practice time, and shows), and standardized curriculum.

Teens: Membership is perfect for teen athletes looking to progress through the USFS testing structure, enter competitions, or earn volunteer hours with Learn to Skate.

Collegiate: We understand that value is important to our collegiate athletes. US Figure Skating allows collegiate athletes to pay a discounted, one-time fee for four years of membership, which grants access to private club ice time, volunteer opportunities through Learn to Skate, and private lesson/coaching opportunities for experienced skaters.

Adults: Whether you’re a townie or just passing through for a few years, membership is a great idea for new and experienced adult skaters looking to get involved in the local community, skate on some private ice after work, and make new friends.

US Figure Skating Membership Fees

USFS membership fees for the 2025-2026 season are:

Parent & child: $155
- USFS requires that members under the age of 18 must be registered with a parent/guardian
Standalone adult member: $115
- Additional family members: $50
Coaches: $85
Collegiate: $135 (one-time fee for four years)

If you’ve previously discussed membership with us and/or know which membership type to select, feel free to send payment after submitting the form
- If you’re a new member, feel free to wait for us to reach back out with confirmation of your application before submitting payment
